[Slack-BR|Geral] HSP56 MR, HP 610c e LG combo[cdrw/dvd]

pessoal, bom dia,

Sei que a extenção de pedidos é grande mas, como quem não arrisca não petisca, vamos lá:

Sistema utilizado: Slackware 10, GNOME 2.6 e Kernel 2.6.6

I) Tenho um modem HSP56 MR fabricante PCTel e a questão é que encontro drivers para este modem apenas para kernel 2.4x. Alguém saberia me informar se existe o driver p/ esse modem com kernel 2.6?;

II) Instalei minha HP 610c conforme o site da HP voltado para Linux. Segui os passos:

# tar xzvf hpijs-1.x.tar.gz
# cd hpijs-1.x
# ./configure
# make
# make install
 
2.  Verify HPIJS is present  
 You can verify HPIJS was built and installed correctly with the following command.

# hpijs -h

If installed correctly, you will see the following displayed.

Copyright (c) 2001-2002, Hewlett-Packard Co.
 
1. Connect your device to the system and verify it's powered on. (note: some distributions may try to automatically configure your printer at this point. If you use their interface, your mileage may vary. Please cancel any bundled installer.) 
2. After "su"ing to root at the terminal prompt, restart CUPS with the following command: killall -HUP cupsd 

3. Go to http://localhost:631  
4. Click "Printers" 
 5. Click "Add Printer" 
 6. Fill in the boxes with appropriate information and click "continue" 
7. Choose the correct port. Either Parallel port or USB printer. 
8. Under Make, choose HP (note: some distributions will have Hewlett-Packard spelled out. HP has all the latest printers) and     click "continue" 
 9. Choose your printer and click "continue". Always choose the (recommended) option. This is usually foomatic +hpijs or foomatic + postscript. 
10. You have just successfully created a CUPS queue. Click on the name of your printer. Then click on "configure printer". If     your printer has multiple settings, such as dpi and media types, it is recommended that you create a queue (steps 5-10)             for each of the each of the modes you are planning on using. 
11. Print a test page to verify functionality.

A parte em negrito foram os passos que não compreendi, alguém poderia me auxiliar neles ou dizer alguma outra forma de se instalar essa impressora?;

III) tenho um combo da LG [CDRW/DVD] no hdc e um CDROM da LG no hdd. Como não sei se segui os passos corretos, gostaria que alguém me corrija se houver algo errado:

 [root em localhost]# ln -sf /dev/hdc /dev/dvd
 [root em localhost]# ln -sf /dev/hdd /dev/cd

Edite o arquivo /etc/fstab:

    [root em localhost]# mcedit /etc/fstab

 Insira uma linha igual a essa:

    /dev/dvd    /mnt/dvd     iso9660 noauto,ro,exec    0 0
    /dev/cd    /mnt/cd        iso9660 noauto,ro,exec    0 0

Salve o arquivo, agora crie o diretório para montagem:

[root em localhost]# mkdir /mnt/dvd
[root em localhost]# mkdir /mnt/cd

Enfim, está certo? Sei que estou pedindo uma lista imensa =P mas, é melhor sanar a dúvida do que se omitir :)
